One of the closest bays to central Bodrum — calm sea, pine-and-olive green slopes and the Leleg monastery ruins on its shore make a peaceful break.

Just minutes from central Bodrum, Torba lies on the peninsula’s northern coast, cradled by a broad bay sheltered from the wind. Because it faces north, its afternoon breeze is gentle and its sea usually calm and clear — a serenity that makes it ideal for swimming and a tranquil day out. The promenade along the shore, the jetties at the water’s edge and the pine-and-olive green hills behind give the bay a simple yet elegant holiday air.

On Torba’s shore stand ruins proving settlement here since antiquity: an early-Christian monastery (the Torba Monastery) in the area that gives the bay its name, with traces of the Leleg civilisation around it. This lets you enjoy the sea while also touching the peninsula’s deep history. Despite being so close to the centre, Torba stays away from the crowds and is easy for families — one of the nearest seaside corners to Artemis Bodrum for a short escape.
