Part of Ortaca, Sarıgerme is one of the region’s most popular natural beaches, with wide golden sand stretching unbroken for kilometres and clear water that stays shallow far out. The pine forest and mountains behind the shore give both shade and a postcard backdrop; the sea is safe and calm. Awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and order, the beach is a choice for families and for those seeking a quiet strand.

Sarıgerme’s shores, together with İztuzu, are one of the Mediterranean’s important nesting grounds for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta), so the beach’s natural fabric is carefully protected. The little island just offshore and the nearby ancient Pisilis ruins offer more to discover beyond the sea. Close to Dalyan, İztuzu and Dalaman, Sarıgerme is also a good base for exploring the region. Being mindful about night-time beach use and light during the nesting season is important for protecting the turtles.
