Rising just off the Gulf of Bodrum, Karaada is the region's largest island and an essential stop on Blue Voyage tours. The island owes its fame to the hot spring water flowing from a cave: visitors come to benefit from the warm water and the yellow, sulphurous mud believed to be good for the skin — smearing on the mud, letting it dry in the sun, then plunging into the clear sea is the island's classic ritual.

Reached only by boat, the island is ringed by calm coves ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Day boat trips setting out from Bodrum harbour and the surrounding bays usually include Karaada in their itinerary.
