A sheltered cove between Bitez and Ortakent, named for its aquarium-clear water — a favourite for snorkelling and boat trips.

Akvaryum Koyu (Aquarium Bay) is a small, sheltered cove on the southern coast of the Bodrum peninsula, between Bitez and Ortakent. It owes its name to the remarkable clarity of its shallow water: the seabed is as clearly visible as if you were looking into an aquarium. That clarity makes the cove one of Bodrum's most beloved spots for snorkelling and diving.

Reached from land only by a footpath or a rough track, the bay has stayed relatively unspoiled, and the most enjoyable way to arrive is by boat; day cruises from Bodrum and Bitez usually drop anchor here for a swimming stop. Sheltered from the wind, its water stays calm and turquoise throughout the day.

With the pine and olive trees around it, its tranquil atmosphere and its distance from the crowds, Aquarium Bay is an ideal escape for anyone who wants to step away from the busy beaches for a day and be alone with nature. It can be reached from our hotel by boat tour or a short drive.
